Over Spring Break, my friend Athan and I decided to go on a bike ride along the Erie Canal. Along the way, I took some video to make a short opening video for The BHS Morning Show. I also tried my hand at making animated titles for the video in After Effects by hand. (It was no small feat- That took 3 hours by itself to create) As you have probably guessed, I am very new to After Effects, but I do hope the end product is enjoyed as much by you as it was by me. :)
I learned the liquid masking from this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nd4PoEjBC_Q

My hobby has been growing it seems. This time though, I decided to make a time-lapse of my creating a bookmark to create a new opening video for my school's Morning Show. In the process, I ended up making two separate videos (one longer and one shorter) to fit the time limits on the Morning Show. But I also wanted to have a cool video that goes through the entire process. There are some slight differences between the two videos, but both have the entire time-lapse. Enjoy! Final product in all of its glory:
During the Fall of 2015, our school put on the Shakespeare play, The Tempest. For my Video Communications class, my good friend Athan Marzen and I created a 30 second long commercial to be played on our school's morning show to advertise the show. Posted to Youtube: Published on Oct 19th, 2015 A project for the advanced video course: TV Production and Digital Communication, I created with my good friend, Athan Marzen, a sequence of shots each representing a different letter of the alphabet. Posted to Youtube: Feb 15, 2016 As another Video Communications project, we had to create a video post card for the foreign exchange students that come to our school every year. I did mine, with a little help of Kemori Spence on our school's snackline. Take a look! Posted to Youtube: Jan 20, 2016 For my Video Communications class in 2015-2016, I had to use a green screen to learn how to ultrakey in Adobe Premiere. To say the least, I'm not the best at it, though the green screen wasn't stellar either. But regardless with my friend, Kyla Farrell, I created a fun little opening. Also, this is a parody, not a cover. Posted to Youtube: Jan 20th, 2016 My first shot at using After Effects... Not a bad result! I created this for the first day of school in my junior year, 2015. I did reupload the video to Youtube at a later date. The following opening is presented to you in 4k. C'mon, guys. Seriously, if your internet can handle it, please watch it in 4k for my sake. This thing took 2 hours to export for that 41 seconds of 4k goodness. I did it for you, fellow internet user. Enjoy this video to the fullest. (in 4k) ;) Again, with my friends Simon and Eleanor Lenoe, we embarked on an incredible journey to take our best shot at a video for Ham Jam; our school's talent show. It didn't win, but it still was a blast to shoot and edit. Posted to Youtube: March 25th, 2015 Also one of my first videos ever made, and technically uploaded before my CSI opening, this was a video I decided to make one night, around 10pm on a Friday night. Found the random stock footage on the internet and stuck it together to make another opening. Enjoy! Posted to Youtube: February 4th, 2015 Here's the first opening I even made with my good friend, Simon Lenoe. Slaving away for about 10 hours in total, we got it done in two days. Pretty good for just starting to learn how to video edit. Uploaded to Youtube: February 10th, 2015 |
